Dipix
Inspection System Selected by Major Flour-Based Products
Manufacturers
Ottawa, Canada, May 3, 2007 – Dipix
Technologies Inc., soon to become a Tarquin
Group company, today announced that a leading manufacturer
and marketer of value-added flour based products
has purchased an automated processed food inspection
system from the company, in a deal worth approximately
$300K.
Dipix’s QualiVision™ machine vision
inspection system will be used to automatically
inspect, count and package breakfast biscuits for
a major quick service restaurant chain. “Dipix
technology fills an important role between the end
of the manufacturing line and the beginning of the
packaging line,” said Dipix VP
of sales and marketing John Lawrence.
“We are pleased to add to our growing list
of major manufacturers who use our products to enhance
quality, improve productivity and ultimately increase
profits.”
Dipix, which is being purchased by diversified
industrial technology company Tarquin Group, is
the world leader in the design and implementation
of automated inspection solutions for processed
foods, including baked goods, snacks, confections,
tortillas, cookies and biscuits. Dipix supports
over 200 installations of its systems with global
manufactured food companies such as McDonald's,
Mission Foods, Nabisco and Sara Lee.
Dipix technology inspects, sorts and aligns food
products on a very large scale. The equipment can
be customized to manage automatic rejection of defects
based on specific criteria. It can also assist with
aligning the product for packaging. The offering
includes on-demand Web-hosted reporting software
that gives customers access to up-to-the-minute
data gathered from the inspection system. This enables
statistical process control across multiple manufacturing
sites and comparison of processing effectiveness.
In October, 2007 Dipix will be exhibiting at the
International Baking Exposition in Orlando, Florida.
