Don Gibbs, Chairman and Acting CEO

Don is an experienced manager and entrepreneur in the electronics industry since 1970. He started his career with Leigh Instruments and then moved to Mitel Corporation as its CFO where in eight years he helped the company go public in many jurisdictions and grow in sales revenue to $250 million. After that he became the CFO of Cognos Inc and successfully took it public. This led to the position of President and CEO of Gandalf Systems Inc. and then a similar position with Positron Fiber Corporation. Don has used his own consulting company to assist many small corporations in getting started and funded. Don has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa and is a Certified Management Accountant with the Canadian Society of Management Accountants.


John Lawrence, President and COO

As Dipix VP of Sales and Marketing for eight years John guided the company’s sales to its largest accounts, creating and cementing relationships with such customers as Wendy’s, Sarah Lee foods and General Mills. He has evolved strong relationships with Dipix customers and positioned Dipix as a trusted supplier to some of the largest food processing organizations in the world, including McDonald's Corp. Reorienting the company’s sales and product strategies, John actively led a ten-fold increase in revenues, and drove the creation of the company’s patented material handling systems. John’s career has been marked by successes in both manufacturing and the test and measurement industries where he has served the automotive, food processing and medical devices manufacturing industries. John brings a wealth of experience and a unique ability to interact with major clients to his role as head of Dipix Technologies. John holds a Bachelor in Applied Science (Engineering) from the University of British Columbia.


Andy Peters, VP Engineering

Andy joined Dipix Technologies as the Electrical/Project Manager in 1999 and was appointed to the position of Vice President of Engineering in 2004. Andy has led the development of systems incorporating vision, machine control and process development at premier companies in the vision and process and control industry. His professional life began at the General Electric Company and includes extensive experience in process development and implementation for the UK’s largest food manufacturer. He brings a mixture of engineering discipline and customer-oriented responsiveness to his role at Dipix. Andy graduated from Coventry University (United Kingdom) in 1984, with a degree in Computer and Control Systems. Andy has been involved in the engineering field for over 20 years (is it really that long?) and enjoys every minute of it.


Laura Dierker, Director of Marketing

Laura joins Dipix from test and measurement company Sciemetric Instruments, where she opened the medical devices manufacturing market, and brings an aggressive, experienced approach to growing Dipix revenues. Laura’s experience includes launching Canada’s first Internet VPN as director of Product Management at iSTAR iNTERNET, acting as VP Sales and Marketing for Nortel’s first affiliate Channelware, and creating and managing the Advanced Network Products business unit at Newbridge Networks. As President of WaveCell International Corp, she added executive level sales experience which she continued as Sciemetric’s lead in the medical devices market. Laura began her professional career as a violinist in an orchestra in Germany. She holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.


Geoff Evans, Director of Sales

Geoff joined the company early in 2005 as part of the business development team and has been instrumental in expanding the product portfolio to create leadership positions in some of our key markets. Prior to joining Dipix he provided sales development expertise to a number of companies in the telecommunications sector including Bay Networks, Nortel and Simware and has won top-tier awards in domestic and international business-to-business sales. Geoff’s background is in marine biology and computer science. He has been involved in technology-related Business Development for over 20 years.


Betty McCartney, Customer Service Manager

Betty’s dedication and experience in serving customers has been instrumental in Dipix growth. Betty served as long-time customer service manager and administrator at GSI Lumonics, where she developed expertise with the structure and processes required to support an international customer base. Her responsibilities have included contracts administration and product management at technology companies, giving her a broad understanding of the sales and development functions. Betty is dedicated to leading Dipix customer service to becoming a world-class organization supporting Dipix growth. Betty has a Bachelor of Arts in English, Economics and Business from the University of Western Ontario.
